Happy Birthday....to you?

Today I woke up with no voice and feeling completely crappy. Oh, and my cat, who decided that he would wake me up by kneading right on my boobs. Is that TMI? Well, too bad! Normally I wouldn't care, but today's my (27th) birthday. And I'm pretty sure I know who I got it from (*ahem* dh *ahem*). I guess I can’t really blame him since he’s around grade 2s all day that probably wipe their noses on their sleeves. I mean, it was practically inevitable. But I digress.

Anyway, ironically, this week is giveaway week on the blog. So instead of you guys showering me with presents, I'm going to give a lucky reader something! All you have to do is tell me your worst birthday experience. After all, misery loves company, right?

At the end of the week, I’ll draw a name to receive a little something. It’ll probably take me that long to get over whatever it is that I have, anyway. So keep those stories comin! I promise to read each and every single one of them in between swigs of Buckleys and long power naps. :)

I was 10 and my friends and I decided in the middle of the night we would head outside!! Keep in mind my parents lived on a farm where barely anyone lived around, it was not unusual that we would head outside by ourselves....anyway as we were headed out we started giggling like 10 years olds tend to do, I fell and all the girls fell on top of me, I was laughing so hard that I PEED MY PANTS!! Totally embarrasing and teased for months!!

back in elementary school, the year my bday was on Friday the 13th, I was playing outside at recess in my pretty dress when I tripped and fell. My dress got dirty, my tights ripped and I got a big bleeding scrape on my knee. At least the principal gave me a sticker to help me feel better.

I was turning 18 and my parents decided to throw me a surprise birthday/leaving for grad trip party. I called and left a message at home that I was going out for supper with my friends and I got home at midnight.

The next morning I saw the banner and Mom literally threw my present at me me (my first camera) and said happy birthday, I hope you have a good trip and stomped off to work. I still feel guilty about that and beg people not to throw surprise parties for me because I ruin them. (I ruined a surprise shower for me too).

One time, when I was maybe eight or nine, my twin brother and I shared our party and the girls all wanted to play with the boys and not what I was playing. I remember crying and identifying with the song "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to."

My 10th b-day -- 4 girls over. MAJOR ice storm. Everything was frozen - the plan had been DQ, but all of the power lines were frozen so we couldn't get anything to eat...except for ice cream. lol. Good times :)

Went for supper at a local pizza place for the first time... and last!!! It was totally disgusting... dirty floors, tables, the waitress looked like she just finished an oil change on her car... and the food was awful! I mean really awful.. we took it home to our dog and she wouldn't even eat it!!!

My worse memory was a birthday that I had to spend with my dad in Tennessee and he totally forgot about it... all day.. never did say happy birthday. Our relationship was never that great but he really sealed the deal when a few years later he decided to get remarried ... and you guessed it... on my birthday. I was probably 14 or so. Pretty much a drag.

i had always pictured my 16th birthday to be really special..like a party or something. well my parents didn't do anything special and i was SO upset. looking back on it now i feel kinda silly, but back then it was pretty important. well i guess i moped around for days, so my mom and dad took me and my buddy to the Keg for supper and bought me my yellow ghetto blaster. i loved that thing...and i felt so much better after that.
